Het lijkt erop dat Laura Dekker behoort tot de laatste tieners die nog de echte Nederlandse mentaliteit hebben. Ze durft te dromen om te zeilen over de hele wereld zoals vele generaties Nederlandse zeemannen dat hebben gedaan. Ze heeft haar droom waar gemaakt in een foutloos geplande en voorbereide solozeilreis rond de aarde. Gefeliciteerd, Laura! Goed gedaan!

Ieder volk in ieder land zou trots zijn op zo een fantastische prestatie van een 16 jarige landgenote, van een dappere meisje. Maar in haar eigen land werd ze niet echt gewaardeerd. Ze krijgt waarschijnlijk geen prijs, onderscheiding of zoiets. Wel wordt ze al een langere tijd gepest door de bureaucratische instanties en het Nederlandstalige internet zit nu redelijk vol met negatieve reacties van jaloerse mensen. Betekend dit dat Nederlandse kinderen niet mogen dromen en durven? Laura komt niet terug naar Nederland en dat is heel erg jammer maar ook begrijpelijk. Wij wensen haar veel succes in haar nieuwe thuisland.

Televoters and juries from 15 countries all over Europe have decided: Georgia won this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest! Congratulations!!

After a wonderful show held in Lemesos, Cyprus, Georgia's Bzikibi won with their song Bzz...! They got a total of 154 points, 19 points ahead of Ukraine's young star Victoria Petryk! Lithuania's Eglė Jurgaitytė got the third place with 103 points .

It was a thrilling show with the best young singers all over Europe! Each and every one of them did a fantastic job on the stage and deserves a round of applause once again!

“Congratulations to the winner, and to the other 14 contestants who all delivered great performances. All of them are extraordinarily talented," said Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the contest.

The next Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Kiev, Ukraine.
